IN MEMORY OF TONY NACCARATO

We wanted to take a moment to share some information about the man we are remembering,

the wonderful man who inspired us to continue to help others as he had done throughout his entire life.

Tony was born in Italy on June 9th, 1959. He was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. In his short time here on earth with us, he made an impact on so many people with his giving nature, friendly demeanor, outrageous sense of humour, contagious laugh and admirable work ethic.

In 2010, after a routine colonoscopy uncovered a fairly large tumour, Tony was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. An aggressive form of cancer that without the right care, could have taken Tony’s life much sooner than it did. Thankfully, Tony’s support system that consisted of his family and amazing team of Doctors and nurses at Humber River Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital teamed up to create a treatment plan that helped prolong his life. Although we obviously wish we had many many more years to spend with Tony, we are forever grateful to have had those precious extra years with him.

Your participation and donations in the Tony Naccarato Memorial Golf Tournament will be helping individuals battling cancer receive the best possible care. You will be helping families give there loved ones a fighting chance so they may live longer to enjoy a good quality of life. You will be helping fund research programs and medical advancements that will allow cancer fighting patients to have hope, that their outcome will be a positive one. Thank you, for being part of this day and for allowing us to celebrate Tony's memory with you.

A letter from Humber River Hospital:

Tony was treated at Humber River Hospital, which has a large Cancer Care clinic but operates very much like a small tight-knit family, and Tony fit right in.

Tony was treated by Humber's Oncologist, Dr. Sabrina Allegro, and until this day Dr. Allegro remembers how he was steadfast in his determination to fight his cancer, how he was gracious at every visit and never complained. He joined clinical trials and did aggressive therapies across the GTA to help fight his cancer.

Tony loved his family so much and was determined to be present for his daughter's wedding day, and he was able to attend that special day.

Tony was a kind and caring patient throughout his treatment with Dr. Allegro, "He was so special and it shows in how he inspired his family and loved ones to do this fundraiser repeatedly. My small amount of time spent with him has left an impression on me and memories that are tattooed in my heart forever."
